Men's Basketball Moves To 3-0 With 101-92 Road Win Over Wilmington (Del.) University
John Middleton Leads UB With 23 Points Off The Bench
Wilmington, Del.-The University of Bridgeport men's basketball team hit the 100-point mark for the third game this season to raise their overall record to 3-0 with a 101-92 road win over the Wilmington (Del.) University Wildcats on Friday night. With the loss, the Wildcats slip to 1-2 on the young season.
Four Purple Knights reached double-digit scoring in Friday's victory led by junior John Middleton (Atlantic City, N.J.) who netted 23 points off the UB bench hitting 8-of-10 field goals including going 4-for-4 from beyond the three-point arc.
Middleton was joined in double figures by senior D'Vonne Trumbo (Pilesgrove, N.J.) with 17 points, plus Trumbo had a fine all-around game adding six rebounds and four assists, junior Bakary Camara (Harlem, N.Y.) with 16 points and sophomore Hashem Abbas (Nablus, Palestine) with 15 points.
Sophomore Nemanja Zubac (Becka Palanka, Serbia) led on the boards with nine rebounds. The Purple Knights dominated the glass on Friday night outrebounding their hosts by a 45-31 margin.
Up next, the UB men's basketball team is right back in action on Saturday night when the Purple Knights travel to Goldey-Beacom.
