BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears saw the Eagles of Post University soar into The Den for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division battle Tuesday evening. Bloomfield notched a 77-56 victory and improved to 7-9 on the season and 7-2 in league showdowns.
Senior
Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, NV) recorded a career-high 29 points and snagged 9 boards during the win.
Ilysia Lewis (Baltimore, MD) came off the bench to grab 8 rebounds.
Post (2-13, 1-8) came out flying high in the 1
st quarter and surprised the home team with a, 20-17 opening frame. Bloomfield promptly seized control in the 2
nd quarter with a 17-0 run. The Eagles found themselves in a 38-29 hole heading into halftime as the Bears defense held the visitors to just nine points.
Floyd missed only one shot in the first two quarters and went 6-of-7 from the field for 13 points. Classmate,
Zhane Robinson (Newark, NJ) poured in 12 of her 20 total points in the first half as well.
Bloomfield kept the Eagles at a distance over the final two periods and secured their second consecutive conference win.
The Bears will host a CACC South Division foe on Saturday afternoon when Chestnut Hill College comes to town. The Griffins and Bears are set to grapple in The Den at 1:00 pm.
