How It Happened
- In the first quarter the team's traded baskets early on until Bobbi Floyd (Las Vegas, N.V.) knocked in a three-pointer to give the Bears a four point advantage (9-5). A conventional three-point play from Deja McKenzie (Baltimore, M.D.) at the 1:51 minute mark gave Bloomfield a 14-7 lead as both teams went cold from the field the rest of the period
- The chill remained in the air to start the 2nd quarter and the first point came on a Tianna Smith (Spring Valley, N.Y.) free throw after a four-minute scoring drought that spanned two periods. Bloomfield slowly built their lead with Jaffe coming off the bench to provide some heat and burned the Golden Falcons at the end of the half with a shot from beyond the arc for a 32-15 advantage at the break
- Jaffe turned up the flames in the 3rd and 4th quarters and scorched Felician for 14 points in the two frames. Robinson remained steady and pitched in 4-of-6 from the field during the final two stanza for 9 points
- Bloomfield put up 19 points on the visitors in the 3rd quarter to expand their lead to 51-26 capped by a Jaffe jumper to conclude the home team's scoring in the frame
- The Bears cruised in the fourth and picked up their fifth consecutive CACC decision. Floyd finished the game with 11 points and 5 rebounds to round out Bloomfield's bench production on th evening
Up Next: The stage is now set as the regionally ranked Bears (10
th in the NCAA Div. II Writer's poll) take on their arch rival and nationally receiving votes (WBCA National Coaches Poll) Caldwell University on Thursday evening at the Newman Center. The two CACC North Division top teams will battle it out for sole possession of first place as the Cougars put their perfect 10-0 league record on the line against a Bloomfield squad that bested them twice last year in regular season play. The slugfest is slated to begin at 5:30 pm.
