How It Happened
- Caldwell snagged the lead early in the contest and never relinquished it. The visitors found themselves up 11-4 after a three-pointer a little over four minutes into the game. - The Bears had chances to pull closer to Caldwell but each time they did, the Cougars would surge ahead again. The home crowd saw their team head into intermission down 43-35
- Bloomfield committed 9 turnovers in the opening half and the opposition were hitting on all cylinders with a 51.4 shooting percentage
- The Bears couldn't gain much ground in the second half. Caldwell had an answer at every turn for the home team's attack and with 8:00 minutes remaining in the game, a three-pointer put the Cougars up ten (68-58) less than a minute to go
- The home team made their push over the next four minutes and cut their deficit to one (68-67), after buckets by Davidson, Kelly and Fleming wrapped around a Julius three-pointer. The Cougars were poised in the face of the Bloomfield run and calmly re-established their lead before sealing the game down the stretch with free throws
