MEN'S SOCCER EDGED BY ST ROSE
Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/11/19) The Dominican College men’s soccer team fell in a non-conference game to the Golden Knights of the College of St. Rose at OMM Field #5 on Wednesday by a score of 2-1.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/11/19) The Dominican College men's soccer team fell in a non-conference game to the Golden Knights of the College of St. Rose at OMM Field #5 on Wednesday by a score of 2-1.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 0-2 overall on the season and the Golden Knights improve to 3-0 overall.
Junior Goalkeeper Joshua Stephens (Stony Creek, Ontario) got the start for DC and recorded three saves in the loss. Ryan Henning started in goal for St Rose and made six saves to help secure the victory for the Golden Knights.
Both teams scored one goal each in the first half. Victor Goncalves-Rocha put the Golden Knights on the board first at 14:51 for the 1-0 lead. Oskar Aastroem earned the assist on the goal.
DC tied it up with a goal by Sophomore Ewan Gray (Middlesbrough, England) about a minute later at the 15:48 mark. Sophomore Patryk Gruca (Garfield, N.J.) earned the assist on the DC goal.
The game remained tied until the second half. Andrew Lule put the Golden Knights back on top with a goal at 59:44 after he received a pass from Simari Smith to make the score 2-1. The game would eventually end 2-1 as DC was held to one goal the rest of the game.
The Chargers will look to bounce back on Sunday, September 15th when they host Salem International at 2:30 PM. The game will be held at Albertus Magnus High School.
