BLOOMFIELD, NJ – The Bears volleyball team fell at home to the top team in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division, Caldwell University, 3-0 Tuesday evening. The loss was Bloomfield's fourth consecutive to a league opponent and left them with an overall record of 6-19 and a 5-11 conference mark. The Cougars, winners of 4-of their last-5 CACC matches, improved to 18-6 on the year and 13-3 in conference play.
Bloomfield saw
Danielle Quintanar (El Paso, TX) step up with a team-high, 14 digs while freshman,
Junelly Marrero (Cantano, PR) set the offensive tone with 22 assists.
Ashley Stroot (Rolesville, NC) and
Ella Ditzenberger (Tracy, Calif.) each registered a block for the Bears on the night and had 7 and 5 kills respectively. Stroot also contributed three service aces.
Bloomfield will look to bounce back when they head on the road to battle the Warriors of Nyack College. The Saturday CACC North Division match up is set for the first serve at 1:00 pm.
