Game Recap: #14 Men's Soccer |

Diaz Earns A Hat Trick, Eagles Stay Hot With 9-0 Win Over Nyack

When and Where: October 17 - Post vs Nyack - Men's Soccer - Waterbury, CT

Records: Post: 7-6-1 (6-2-1) - Nyack 1-13 (0-9)

Ted Haley received a great team effort in today's 9-0 victory, as six different eagles scored a goal.

The standout performance belonged to sophomore sensation Sergio Diaz. Diaz netted three goals and had one assist. Diaz struck early in the game when he converted a penalty shot to open up the scoring. The game's second goal also belonged to Diaz and was set up by his teammate Andreas Time. The third and final goal by Diaz came early in the second half; his day would be done after this.

Sergio Sanchez and Alvaro Sanchez each found the back of the net in a first half that saw the Eagles score four times. For Alvaro, it was his third straight game with a goal and sixth goal of the season.

Much like his teammate Alvaro Sanchez, Phillimon Bedard-Khalid scored in his third straight game. The reigning CACC Freshmen of The Week curled home a beautiful shot to the right of the goalie to extend the lead to 7-0. The goal was set up and assisted on a nice look from Samuel Urban.

The Eagles had two first time goal scores for this season: Max Waas and Meysar Abdullkadir. Waas pushed to score to 8-0 and Abdulkadir capped the game off with the final goal.

GK Fredrik Pederson played the first half and stopped the one shot he saw on next, while Carlos Ortega played second half and stopped both shots on net.

Post out-shot Nyack 33(15) to 6(3) and had more corner kicks (10 to 4).
