BEARS WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ADVANCE TO CACC CHAMPIONSHIP SEMIFINALS AFTER, 75-43 WIN OVER HOLY FAMILY

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (February 27, 2018) -- The top-four seeds in the 2017-18 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball Championship were victorious in Tuesday's quarterfinals, thus setting up an exciting semifinal round on Saturday at the Gallagher Center on the Jefferson campus in Philadelphia, Pa.

Tournament No. 1 overall seed University of the Sciences defeated North No. 4 Felician University, 58-41, as the Devils will take on North No. 2 seed Caldwell University, after the Cougars handed Chestnut Hill College (S#4) a 109-49 setback in their contest. North No. 1 Bloomfield College defeated South No. 4 Holy Family University, 75-43, and South No. 2 Jefferson took down Dominican College (N#3) by a count of 74-55. Bloomfield and Jefferson will meet in Saturday's other semifinal contest.

The USciences-Caldwell contest on Saturday will be at 12 p.m., while the Bears and Rams will square off at 2 p.m. Each game represents rematches of the last two CACC Championship Finals, with Jefferson defeating Bloomfield in the 2016 final, and the Devils knocking off the Cougars in the 2017 final.

Colleen Walsh poured in 31 points and the Devils limited the Golden Falcons to just 12 first-half points in pulling away early for the victory. Sarah Abbonizio chipped in 13 in the victory, while Bionca Chambers led Felician with 13 points herself.

N#2 CALDWELL 109, S#3 CHESTNUT HILL 49  /  Boxscore
Tina Lebron came off the bench to pump in a game-high 24 points, as six Cougars notched double-digits in scoring. The other five Caldwell players to log double-figures included Sharell Sanders (15), Kristen Drogsler (15), Karlie O'Driscoll (15), Maura Kelty (12) and Andie Lennon (12). Vicky Tumasz led CHC in scoring with 16 points.

N#1 BLOOMFIELD 75, S#4 HOLY FAMILY 43  /  Boxscore
The Bears scored 12 of the game's first 16 points and never looked back in advancing to Saturday's semifinals. Zhane Robinson paced three Bloomfield double-digit scorers with 23 points, and also logged a double-double with 10 boards. Kiamsha Bynes followed with 15 points, while Deja McKenzie chipped in with 13. Elizabeth Radley led the Tigers with 12 points and eight rebounds.

S#2 JEFFERSON 74, N#3 DOMINICAN 65  /  Boxscore
Beverly Kum pumped in 20 points to lead four Rams in double-figures, as she was joined by Alynna Williams (13), Rachel Day (12) and Caitlyn Cunningham (11). Kum capped her strong all-around evening with 15 rebounds for a double-double. She was 7-of-11 from the field and added a pair of assists and two blocks. Jasmine Gee netted 15 for the Chargers in the setback.
