2023 CACC MXC & WXC Coach of the Year & Sportsmanship Awards

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 30, 2023) -- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) on Monday announced both its 2023 Men's Cross Country and Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year award winners, and Team Sportsmanship Awards as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara.

Wilmington University swept the men's awards as Keith Jones was named the coach of the year and the Wildcats claimed the Rob Roman Memorial Team Sportsmanship Award for demonstrating class and character throughout the regular season. Jones led the Wildcats to the CACC Championship two weeks ago at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia and leads the team into the NCAA East Region Championship race this weekend.

Thomas Jefferson University's Dave Thomas was named the CACC WXC Coach of the Year as he led the Rams to the CACC crown on that side for the eighth time in the last nine seasons. He takes his squad to the regional as well. 

Chesnut Hill College, under the guidance of Head Coach Ian Hankins, won the Women's Cross Country Anne Jackson Memorial Team Sportsmanship Award for their outstanding character shown during the season. CHC finished second in the CACC Women's Cross Country Championship two weeks ago at Belmont.
