Felician Captures Historic Title at CACC WXC Championship

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (October 30, 2022) – The Felician University Women’s Cross Country team made school history on Sunday by winning the 2022 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship. The Golden Falcons became the first women’s team in Felician’s history to win a conference championship in any sport. The Golden Falcons finished with a team score of 36 to claim the title at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pa. on Sunday.

HOW FELICIAN DID IT

Felician claimed the women’s team title with four runners earning All-CACC honors with top-15 finishes. Bri Balderas placed first for both the Golden Falcons and in the entire race with a 5k time of 20:02.4. In doing so, Balderas was titled the CACC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Year.

Finishing second overall, Ashley Linares had a time of 20:10.1. Cynthia Delapaz followed in fourth with a 20:25.3. Kadreya Simeon finished 12th for the Golden Falcons with a 20:59.9.

JEFFERSON’S SECOND PLACE FINISH

Thomas Jefferson University finished second overall with a team score of 42. The Rams had five runners with top-15 finishes. Ana Eshraghi finished fifth overall with a 20:32.0. Annalee Capuano followed in sixth with a 20:34.5, and was named the CACC Rookie of the Year by being the highest freshman finisher in the event. Kyleigh Percy came in seventh with a 20:36.2. Lydia Shaw came in ninth with a 20:42.5 and Sarah Brennan finished fifteenth with a 21:25.4.

In all, six schools were represented on the All-CACC Team. In addition to the nine runners listed above, the six remaining All-CACC Honorees included:
