Jefferson's Dave Thomas Named 2019 CACC Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 8, 2019) -- Jefferson Head Coach Dave Thomas on Friday was named the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The voting for the coach of the year award was conducted by the league's sports information directors after consultation with their respective head coaches in the sport.

Thomas once again did a masterful job of leading the Rams to a CACC title in 2019, as Jefferson placed five runners among the top 14 at the CACC Championship back on Oct. 27, to earn the program's sixth-consecutive conference championship. The event was held at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, which will also serve as the host course for this weekend's NCAA Division II East Region Championship Race.

Overall, Jefferson finished among the top-four teams in the standings in five races during the fall, including third-place showings at the Osprey Open and the Jack St. Clair Memorial.
