NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 8, 2019) -- Wilmington University Head Coach Keith Jones on Friday was named the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The voting for the award was conducted by the league's sports information directors after consultation with their respective head coaches in the sport.

Jones led WilmU to its second-straight CACC Championship in 2019, as the Wildcats conquered Belmont Plateau back on Oct. 27, with a first-place score of 41 points. Five Wilmington runners finished among the top 14 in the standings to help propel the Wildcats to victory.

The Wildcats return to Belmont this weekend as they compete in the 2019 NCAA Division II East Region Championship, hosted by Jefferson. Wilmington will use its extensive experience and success on the course to look to advance to the NCAA nationals later this fall.
