NEW HAVEN, Conn. (February 22, 2019) -- The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) was recently recognized by the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as the organization announced its academic awards for the 2018 campaign. Ten (10) CACC teams and 16 individuals earned academic status from the coaches association, as they demonstrated success not just on the race course, but also in the classroom.

Programs that earned USTFCCCA NCAA Division II All-Academic Team status posted team-wide grade point averages of 3.00 or higher. Overall there were 427 teams – 231 women’s teams and 196 men’s teams – that earned All-Academic honors.

In order to qualify for the individual academic honor, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finished among the top 30 percent of eligible runners at his or her regional championships and/or the top half of the field at the NCAA Championship meet. There were 649 student-athletes who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors with the women accounting for 58.4 percent of the total (379).
