Post's Kendall Fitzgerald Named 2018 USTFCCCA East Region Women's Athlete of the Year

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 28, 2018) -- Post University's Kendall Fitzgerald recently was named the 2018 United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region Women's Athlete of the Year, as announced by the national organization.

Fitzgerald, a junior from Kamloops, British Columbia, won the 2018 NCAA Division II East Regional Women's Championship in a time of 22:10.9 in the 6k event at Bethpage State Park in New York on Nov. 17. The performance granted her a six and a half second victory against the strong field. She earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division II National Championship Race this weekend with her amazing performance at the regional.

Prior to the NCAA Regional, Fitzgerald captured the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Individual Championship at Belmont Plateau on Oct. 28. It marked the third-consecutive year she won the league championship.
