RUTHERFORD, N.J. (December 3, 2016) -- The 2007 Felician College men's cross country team is one of the finest squads in conference history and on Saturday the program took its rightful place by being officially inducted into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Hall of Fame during an on-court ceremony between the Felician University-Bloomfield College men's and women's basketball doubleheader.

Former head coach John Brennan, along with his two assistants, and seven members of the squad were on hand to be honored. Each member was called out to centercourt to receive a portrait commemorating their special season and induction into the hall of fame.

CACC Commissioner Dan Mara was on hand to provide remarks about the historic team, while Felician University President Dr. Anne Prisco and Director of Athletics Ben DiNallo were also in attendance to welcome back the former student-athletes and thank them for their contributions to the school.

The 2007 Golden Falcons were one of the most dominant teams in CACC history, regardless of sport. Felician claimed the CACC Cross Country crown that year with just 22 points after all seven of the squad's runners finished among the top 15 of the individual standings to earn All-CACC status (the first time in conference history that feat had been accomplished).

Paul Chegwidden set a new CACC meet record with his first-place performance that garnered him the individual championship and the conference runner-of-the-year award. Jay Rodgers was named the CACC Rookie of the Year for being the highest freshman finisher at the meet, while Brennan's masterful guidance of the team allowed him to collect the CACC Coach-of-the-Year award. The other five individuals to earn All-CACC honors included Brad Schepise, Mike Burghoffer, Brian McDonnell, Alex Wright and Brenden Krewer. Felician's 22 points were 31 better then the meet's second-place finisher.

The Golden Falcon team became the first of the four-member Class of 2016 to be officially inducted into the CACC Hall of Fame. The next honoree to be officially inducted will be former Holy Family University women's basketball coach Mike McLaughlin on Sunday, Dec. 18. The other two members will be officially inducted in on-campus ceremonies on Jan. 28 (Georgian Court University's Heather Walker) and on Feb. 4 (Caldwell University's Matthew Stuart).

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
