2021 Volleyball All-Conference & Major Awards Announced

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 16, 2021) -- Holy Family University standout Morgan Silks on Tuesday collected a pair of major awards, including the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Player of the Year honor, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Silks was also named the CACC Setter of the Year, and was placed on the All-CACC First Team at the setter spot. Her honors highligted a lengthy list of award winners on Tuesday, as the voting for the league's honors was conducted by the CACC's 13 head coaches in the sport.

In addition to Silks, Thomas Jefferson University's Jess Molen was named the CACC Rookie of the Year and Nyack College's British Dawson was tabbed as CACC Defensive Player of the Year. Holy Family University's Collin Sibilia was crowned as CACC Coach of the Year, and Nyack College was named the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award winner for demonstrating class and character throughout the 2021 campaign.

Silks leads the CACC with 10.54 assists per set, as she helped guide Holy Family to a perfect 18-0 record in CACC play and the league's South Division regular season championship. It marked the fourth-consecutive year she was named the CACC Setter of the Year and the fourth year in a row she locked up first-team all-league honors. Silk's player-of-the-year accolade gives her five major awards for her brilliant career. Silks has gone over 1,000 assists this season alone and ranks sixth in the league with 46 service aces.

Molen had an outstanding debut season at the collegiate level, as she leads the CACC in kills per set at 3.81. She has logged double-digit kills in 21 matches this season, including topping 20 kills twice.

Dawson was named the defensive player of the year, as she ranks fourth with 503 digs and second in digs/set with a mark of 6.06.

Molen and Dawson joined Silks on the All-CACC First Team, as Molen made it at one of the three outside hitter positions, and Dawson locked up the libero spot on the top unit.

Sibilia was selected as coach of the year (in a vote by the league's SIDs), as he has led HFU to a 23-3 overall record and an 18-0 mark in league play. The Tigers are the No. 1 overall seed heading into this week's CACC Championship tournament. Holy Family is also ranked third in the latest NCAA Division II East Region rankings.
