Match Recap

* After dropping the first set the Tigers made adjustments to open the second set and it paid off.  With Bentley ahead 9-8, the Tigers rolled off a 6-0 run to take a 14-9 advantage.  Bentley though followed with five of the next six points to come within one point of the lead.  However, the Tigers held off the Falcons rally and produced a mini 4-0 run after back-to-back kills by juniors Camille Johnson (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) and Carly Covington (Delmar, Md./Delmar).  Freshman Maeve Boylan (Ridley Township, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) finished the run with two straight service aces. That would be the closest the Falcons would get to the lead again as the Tigers took the set 25-19 to tie the match.

* In the third set Bentley held an 8-7 lead before the Tigers came through with a huge run to take control of the set.  The Tigers recorded six unanswered points, including seven of the next eight points in the set to take a 14-9 lead.  Holy Family never relinquished the lead despite the Falcons making things interesting late.  Bentley trailed 24-20 but came within one point of tying the set before the Tigers called a timeout.  Outside the timeout, Covington sealed the third set victory with a kill as the Tigers led the match 2-1.

* In the fourth set the Tigers had all the momentum.  Holy Family scored the first eight points of the set and never looked back. Bentley came as close as four points to the lead at 12-8 but the Tigers quickly responded with three straight points to increase the lead to 15-8. The Tigers closed out the match scoring four of the final five points, including the final point off a service error by the Falcons.
