Concordia's Ebba Rosberg Named 2019 CACC Women's Tennis Player & Rookie of the Year; All-League Teams Announced

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (October 22, 2019) -- Concordia College standout Ebba Rosberg on Tuesday was named both the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Player & Rookie of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Rosberg's sweep of the major awards highlighted the all-league teams announced as well. Voting for the all-conference and major awards was conducted by the league's 10 head coaches in the sport.

In addition to Rosberg, Concordia's Neil Tarangioli was named the CACC Coach of the Year, while Caldwell University earned the CACC Women's Tennis Team Sportsmanship Award.

Rosberg is 11-0 in her collegiate debut season, as she is competing at the No. 1 spot in the Clippers' lineup this season. She has also teamed with Paula Palero to go 9-2 in doubles action this fall. All 11 of her singles wins have come via straight-sets, including a pair of matches by 6-0, 6-0 counts. Rosberg has posted seven sets this fall where she has won by 6-0 counts.

Tarangioli was named the league's top coach after guiding Concordia to an 11-0 mark and 9-0 conference record during the regular season. The Clippers enter this week's CACC Championship as the No. 1 seed and a bye into the semifinals on Friday in Middlebury, Conn.

Rosberg was also named to the All-CACC First Team and joined five other individuals named to the top squad. Overall, 13 student-athletes earned all-conference status, including seven on the second team.
