Goldey-Beacom's Jenna Fannon Highlights Tuesday's Award Winners by Being Named 2019 CACC WSOC Player of the Year

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 12, 2019) -- Goldey-Beacom College standout Jenna Fannon on Tuesday was named the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer Player of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Fannon, who was also named to the All-CACC First Team, highlighted a list of honorees on Tuesday who were either named major award winners or all-conference standouts. The voting for the league's major awards and all-league teams was conducted by the league's 13 head coaches in the sport.

In addition to Fannon, other CACC major award honorees included Jefferson's Laural Erick (CACC Rookie of the Year), Caldwell University's Amber Raines (CACC Defensive Player of the Year), Jefferson's Erin Tinneny (CACC Goalkeeper of the Year), Jefferson's Socrates Nicolaidis (CACC Coach of the Year) and Chestnut Hill College (CACC Women's Soccer Team Sportsmanship Award).

Fannon, who leads the CACC and NCAA Division II in goals, as she has popped in 23 markers in 2019. She has also assisted on seven other goals and produced 53 points throughout the regular season. Fannon has scored at least one goal in 11 contests this season, including a string of five straight where she scored nine tallies. She has logged multiple goals in nine matches, including a season-high of four in an 11-0 win over Lincoln (Pa.) back on Oct. 24.

Erick was named the league's top rookie after she posted 11 goals, six assists and 28 points during the regular season in helping to guide the Rams to the CACC regular season championship. She currently ranks sixth in the CACC in goals. Erick was named to the All-CACC Second Team as a forward.

Tinneny has been perfect in goal this season, as she is 9-0-0 with a combined six shutouts. She has a 0.13 goals against average and a .955 save percentage. Tinneny was named placed on the All-CACC First Team.

Raines was tabbed the league's top defensive player, as she helped anchor a backline that proved one of the stingiest in the CACC throughout the regular season. The Cougars logged five shutouts this season. Raines also got into the scoring act for Caldwell, as she posted two goals and a pair of assists for six points.

Nicolaidis was named the league's coach of the year after guiding Jefferson to an 11-1 mark in league action and claiming the conference's regular season title.
