NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 19, 2018) -- Goldey-Beacom College women's soccer standout Cliona Crammond on Wednesday was named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Student-Athlete of the Month for November 2018, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Crammond earned the honor for demonstrating athletic success during the month, while also being a leader in the classroom and in her surrounding community.

During November, Crammond helped lead the Lightning to a second-place finish in the regular season women's soccer standings and a trip to the CACC Championship semifinals. She was named to the CACC Women's Soccer All-Tournament Team for her efforts during the postseason, marking the second-consecutive year she was placed on the conference's all-tournament squad. The biggest athletic honor was yet to come for Crammond, who in late November earned First-Team All-East Region honors from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), and then went on to earn Third-Team All-America accolades from the organization. Those awards came on the heels of Crammond being named a First-Team All-CACC selection in late October on the eve of the first round of the women's soccer championship tournament.

Crammond is just as impressive in the classroom, as the senior boasts a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 in her major of financial management. The Arklow, County Wicklow (Ireland) native was named a Google Cloud/CoSIDA Second-Team Academic All-American, while also collecting Academic All-District I honors from the national organization of collegiate sports information directors. Earlier this week, Crammond was named to the CACC Women's Soccer All-Academic Team for the third time in her illustrious career.

Crammond has also dedicated a significant amount of her time volunteering in the surrounding communities. She has volunteered at The Summit, which is a retirement home for U.S. veterans just minutes from the G-B campus, to work with former soldiers and brighten their day. Crammond has has also assisted at The Summit and its annual Festival of Lights fundraiser event. She has participated in Bras for the Cause, Goldey-Beacom's Department of Athletics fundraiser for breast-cancer awareness that drew the college a finalist nod for the 2016 NCAA Division II Award of Excellence. Finally, Crammond has also assisted athletes with special needs to help train and develop their skills during Hockessin Athletic Club's Fitness Friday's.

The CACC Student-Athlete of the Month Award is handed out each month from September through May, which spans the length of the academic year. The award recognizes student-athletes and their athletic accomplishments, academic success in the classroom, and dedication to the local communities.
