NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 18, 2018) -- Sixty-five (65) student-athletes on Tuesday were named to the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 65 honorees represent all 13 schools in the CACC that compete in the sport at the varsity level.

Jefferson led all schools with 13 honorees, including 10 that were named to the CACC All-Academic Team for at least the second time in their respective careers. Brooke Haden led the Rams with a cumulative grade point average of 3.86 in her major of Occupational Therapy. 

Goldey-Beacom College followed with seven honorees, including sophomore Rose Benjamin, who had a perfect GPA of 4.0 in her studies of business. Benjamin was one of five student-athletes who posted 4.0 marks on the all-academic squad, and also included Merrinda Hill (Bloomfield College), Macie Pennington (Caldwell University), Krysta Memis (Wilmington University), Kate Tubo (Wilmington). Pennington was the CACC Top XVI Award winner at the 2018 CACC Women's Soccer Championship in early November for having the highest cumulative grade point average (including most credit hours completed) at the final's site.

Eleven (11) student-athletes on the list posted GPAs of 3.90 or higher. Twenty-six (26) were multiple-time honorees, including 10 of those making the squad for the third time, respectively.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
