Former Holy Family Great & All-American Catherine Carr Inducted into CACC Hall of Fame (Class of '19)

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (December 23, 2019) – Former Holy Family University women's basketball All-American Catherine Carr was officially inducted into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Hall of Fame on Saturday during an on-court ceremony during halftime of the Tigers conference game versus Jefferson.

CACC Commissioner Dan Mara was on hand to provide remarks about Carr's tremendous career at Holy Family and presented her with a framed portrait commemorating her induction into the Hall of Fame. Also present during the induction was HFU President Sister Maureen McGarrity and Director of Athletics Tim Hamill.

Carr, who is already in the CACC Hall of Fame as part of the 2007-08 women's basketball team that was inducted two years ago, is the first individual student-athlete from Holy Family to be inducted.  Former legendary head coach Mike McLaughlin is also a member as he was part of the Class of 2016.

The program's first-ever NCAA Division II All-American, Carr is the Tigers' all-time leading scorer with 1,995 career points after averaging 16 points per game during the course of her career.  During her four years at Holy Family (2007-11), Carr accumulated a number of honors, as she was a four-time All-CACC honoree, CACC Rookie of the Year (2007-08) and CACC Player of the Year (2008-09). She received All-Region honors three times and capped her career with WBCA All-America accolades her senior season.

Holy Family appeared in the CACC Tournament all four years of Carr's career and raised the championship banner in 2008.  The Tigers advanced to the NCAA Division II tournament all four seasons and were East Region finalists in 2008 and 2010.  Overall, Holy Family was 112-15, and an eye-popping 73-1 in CACC play during her four seasons.  Carr was not only a standout on the court, but also in the classroom, as she was a three-time CACC All-Academic Team honoree.

The 2019-20 CACC Hall of Fame class includes four individuals and one team.  Carr is joined by Ron Kornegay (Monmouth University - Men's Basketball), Chrissy Woodruff (University of the Sciences - Women's Cross Country), Devon Young (Felician University - Men's Basketball) and the 2005-06 Goldey-Beacom College Men's Golf team.
