Thirty-Six Student-Athletes Placed on 2017-18 CACC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (March 28, 2018) -- Thirty-six (36) student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2017-18 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 36 individuals combined to represent 11 institutions throughout the league.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

University of the Sciences led the way with eight honorees, followed by Goldey-Beacom College with seven representatives. Chestnut Hill College was third with five representatives.

USciences, which won the CACC Women's Basketball Championship for the second year in a row, featured six honorees who were named to the All-Academic team for at least the second time in their respective careers. The highest GPA on the Devils squad was Mikaela Giuliani with a 3.96. Goldey-Beacom's top GPA on the team was a mark of 3.88 and was held by Margherita Giubilei. Cailey Gibson owned CHC's highest GPA at 3.76.

Sixteen (16) of the 36 representatives were named to the CACC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team for at least the second time in their careers, including eight of those being three-time honorees. The highest GPA on the team was 3.98 and it was sported by a pair of student-athletes, including Caldwell University's Tina LeBron and Post University Taylor Ceballos. LeBron was named the CACC Top XVI Award winner at the 2018 women's basketball championship for having the highest GPA at the finals site of the event.
