RUTHERFORD, N.J. – The Felician College women's basketball program will sponsor a "Junior Falcon Day," with special activities to entertain children in eighth grade and younger, during its home game against Bloomfield College this Saturday, January 12, at 1 p.m.

Among the confirmed events for Saturday are a face-painting station, run by Felician's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and an appearance by the Golden Falcon mascot. All children in attendance will also be invited to a post-game autograph session featuring members of the Felician women's basketball team.

Ticket prices for Saturday are $5 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens. However, children in eighth grade or lower will be admitted free with a paid adult ticket. Members of the Felician community (faculty, staff, students, alumni) are also admitted free with proper identification. One ticket provides admission for both the women's game and the men's contest between Felician and Bloomfield that follows at 3 p.m.

Junior Falcon Day is an offshoot of the NCAA's former "Take a Kid to the Game" (TAKG) program. TAKG began 17 years ago as a national grassroots effort to encourage adults to take children to NCAA sporting events. The program was discontinued nationally for basketball in 2011-12, but the Golden Falcon women have decided to continue and re-brand the tradition at the institutional level.

Felician plays its home basketball games at Job Gymnasium on its Rutherford Campus. More information is available by contacting the department of athletics at (201) 559-3333 or MentoneM@felician.edu.
