Kimberly Piard Named Dominican Head Track & Field/Cross Country Head Coach

Orangeburg, N.Y. (August 12, 2019) -- Dominican College Director of Athletics, Joseph S. Clinton, has announced the hiring of Kimberly Piard as the new head men's and women's cross country/track and field coach. Piard replaces Eric Schaffer who resigned this past May.

We are exciting to have Kim take our as head coach of our men's and women's cross country and track and field programs," said Clinton.  "Her enthusiasm, dedication and commitment to the cross country and track and field programs made her the ideal candidate to help take these programs to the next level."

Piard is no stranger to Dominican College as she has served on the cross country/track and field coaching staffs for the past four years.

"It is a dream come true!  I'm excited for this opportunity to become the new head coach for both the men's and women's cross country/track and field programs," Piard said.  "With my experience as both a collegiate athlete and assistant coach I can relate to our student-athletes on becoming the best that they can be and provide the resources to showcase their talents.  I would like to thank Joe Clinton, John Burke and the entire athletic department for their trust and confidence they have in me directing the program to where it should be in the CACC."

Piard spent her collegiate career as a member of the Red Storm cross country (three years), the indoor track team and the outdoor track team.  She earned BIG EAST Student-Athletie Academic All-Star Team accolades.  She was also a student-athlete peer mentor and orientation leader for incoming student-athletes.  In 2008, Piard earned the team sportsmanship award.

She was also a Team Haiti National Track and Field Athlete and was the Haiti International Pageant First Runner Up in 2015.

Previously from 2009-2011, she was a Miss New York Pageant State Finalist.

Piard is a 2011 graduate of St. John's University where she earned her B.A. in Psychology.  In 2015, she earned her Master of Science degree in Sport Psychology from California University of Pennsylvania.

Piard holds National Association of Speed and Explosion Certification in Levels I & II and a USATF Coaches Level 1 and 2 certification.
