Twenty-Nine Student-Athletes Named to 2019 CACC Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 22, 2019) -- Twenty-nine (29) student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 29 individuals represent all 12 schools that compete in the sport at the varsity level in the CACC.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

Nyack College's Benjamin Tse led all honorees on the list with a perfect 4.0 GPA in his major of accounting. Tse also earned the CACC Top XVI Award at the men's track championship earlier this month for having the highest GPA of all competitors at the final's site in the CACC Championship Festival. Five additional athletes posted GPAs of 3.90-3.99 on the list.

Twelve (12) student-athletes made the all-academic squad for at least the second time in their respective careers, while three made it for a third time (Caldwell University's Devin Lattuga & Jefferson's Ethan Fadale and Sergei Cendo).

Jefferson led all teams with six honorees on the list. A pair of Rams posted GPAs of at least 3.90, including Shawn Johnson (3.95) and Greg Dawson (3.92). Johnson, a sophomore made the team for the first time in his career, while Dawson (a junior) made it for the second time. Post University was next with four honorees, including the 3.96 GPA of Nolan Mazako.
