Thirty-Three Standouts Named to 2018 CACC Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (June 6, 2018) -- Thirty-three (33) student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Track & Field All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The total number of honorees represented 10 schools that sponsor the sport at the varsity level in the CACC.

Jefferson led the way with eight honorees, followed by 2018 CACC Women's Track & Field Champion Georgian Court University with six. Meghan Horan sported the top cumulative grade point average for the Rams with a mark of 3.89. Georgian Court's top mark was a perfect 4.0, which was held by Kylie Jones. The GCU standout earned the CACC Top XVI Award winner at the conference's track & field championship back in May for having the highest GPA at the finals site.

Nineteen (19) of the 33 honorees earned a spot on the CACC All-Academic Team for at least the second time in their respective careers, including eight being placed on the squad for the third time.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Jefferson (Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University), Nyack College, Post University of Waterbury, University of the Sciences, and Wilmington University.
