CACC Announces 2012-2013 Men's Golf All-Conference Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn.  – Thomas Rees of Post University has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Player of the Year, while Wilmington University's Andreas Lunding was tabbed Rookie of the Year, WU mentor Harry Jennings garnered Coach of the Year honors and Chestnut Hill College is the Team Sportsmanship Award recipient.  The all-conference, player and rookie of the year awards are determined from the current Golfstat rankings and the coach and team sportsmanship award winners are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.

Rees, a native of Cardiff, Wales, sits atop the Golfstat standings with a Division Rating of 166.  In eight tournaments this year, the 6'0 senior, has carded an average score of 74.71 and has five top-20 finishes in 2012-2013.  Rees finished first at the Northeast Intercollegiate Golf Championships in September and capped the Fall portion of the schedule with his third top-10 finish at the Connecticut Cup in October.
 
Lunding is currently ranked 332 in Golfstat and is the highest ranking freshman in the CACC.  The native of Horsholm, Denmark posted consecutive victories in the Spring campaign, capturing top honors at the Dowling College Bayside Invitational and the WU Spring Tournament.  Lunding captured top individual honors at the Dowling invitational with a three-stroke win. In the WU tournament, Lunding fired an opening round 69 en route to the two-shot victory.   Both victories earned him CACC Player and Rookie of the Week accolades.
 
Joining Rees and Lunding on the CACC All-Conference Team is junior Patrick McRae of Goldey-Beacom College; senior Jeff Schaller, junior Sam Deitte and sophomore Eutimio Fernandez-Meade of Concordia; junior Andrew Baldo and Paul Tighe of Wilmington University; junior Keith Prokop of Dominican College; and junior Ross Earnshaw of Post.

Jennings is currently in his ninth season at the helm of the Wildcat golf program. Wilmington is the two-time defending CACC Men's Golf Tournament Champions and currently has seven golfers ranked inside of the top-30 in the conference standings according to Golfstat.  On March 29, the WU golf team won the Wilmington University Spring Invitational by 25.  Jennings took home the top coaching honors in 2011.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (NY) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician College, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University, University of the Sciences and Wilmington University.
