NEW HAVEN, CT - Dominican College's Deidre Jeppson has been selected the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Softball Player and Rookie of the Week for the week ending Sunday, March 29. Diana Sansevera of Georgian Court University was the choice for Pitcher of the Week.

Jeppson, a freshman 3B from Sylmar, CA, helped lead Dominican to an 8-0 week with a .448 batting average, 10 runs scored, five RBI, two homeruns and three stolen bases. She had four multi-hit games and homered against NYIT and Chestnut Hill. She posted a .655 slugging percentage and a .448 on-base percentage.

Sansevera, a sophomore right-hander from Manalapan, NJ, went 2-1 on the week with a 0.97 ERA in four appearances. She struck out 42 batters in 29.0 innings of work and allowed only 16 hits and four runs. She pitched all nine innings in a win over Felician and allowed only two hits while fanning 18. Her only loss of the week was a tough 1-0 setback to Bloomfield, as she struck out 11 in the contest.

Honorable Mention

Danielle Garrison, Dominican (Jr., RHP, Coatesville, PA) - Went 4-0 with a 1.88 ERA with 36 strikeouts in 26.0 IP.

Christina Braziel, Nyack (So., 3B, Magnolia, TX) - Hit .500 in six games with 11 RBI and three runs scored.

Brittany Pulido, Caldwell (So., RHP, Ojai, CA) - Went 2-0 with one save and did not allow a run in 12.1 IP.

Kyrie Timbrook, Caldwell (Jr., 1B/C, Los Gatos, CA) - Hit .643 in a 4-0 week with four RBI. Had four hits vs. GBC.

CACC Notes

Bloomfield - Bloomfield was ranked seventh in the initial Northeast Regional Poll. It marked the first time the softball program has ever been regionally ranked. BC went 3-1 this week, including a 1-0 win over Georgian Court, in which Brianne Moore pitched a 4-hit shutout. The junior righty pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 7th for the win and recorded ten strikeouts on the day. BC set a school record for most stolen bases in a doubleheader as the Deacons were 10-10 on steals against Holy Family. BC ranked 17th in the NCAA in steals coming into this week. Surije Tonuzi blasted a pinch hit, three-run homer against Holy Family. The homer was the first career hit for the junior college transfer.

Caldwell - The Cougars remained unbeaten in the CACC with four victories last week. Junior Kyrie Timbrook went 5-for-8 with three RBI in a doubleheader sweep of Goldey-Beacom Mar. 24 that included a 9-8 win in extra innings. Junior Danielle Genovese singled home freshman Kelly Ryan in the bottom of the eighth for the game-winning run. Pitching led the Cougars to a sweep of Philadelphia on Mar. 28, as sophomore Brittany Pulido earned a complete-game win and a save while not allowing an earned run. Caldwell had two doubleheaders postponed last week due to rain. The Bloomfield match-up will be played on Tuesday, Apr. 14.

Dominican - The Lady Chargers are currently on an eight-game winning streak. Last week, DC won four out of eight games in five innings and scored 63 total runs.

Felician - On the season, the Felician offense has had seven games with nine or more base hits, and seven others with two or fewer hits.

Georgian Court - GCU dropped to #20 in the latest NFCA Poll. The Lions visit Philadelphia University on Wednesday for a CACC twin-bill before hosting their 2nd Annual "Go to Bat for Breast Cancer" Tournament. This year's participants include: the University of Bridgeport, Caldwell College, Dominican College, Queens College, Molloy College, NYIT, Dowling College and Kutztown University.

Holy Family - Holy Family University dropped a pair of CACC double-headers against Dominican and Bloomfield last week. Shortstop Carly Sippel led the offense during the week with a .529 batting average, including a 5-for-5 effort in game one against Bloomfield. The Tigers are now 7-17 overall and 2-4 in the CACC. The team has another busy week with four double-headers: Bloomsburg (Tues.), Adelphia (Thurs.), at Nyack (Sat.) and St. Thomas Aquinas (Sun.).

Philadelphia - The Lady Rams went 1-3 on the week, notching their first CACC win in a 4-0 shutout of Felician. The team returns to action this week with four dates: vs. Wilmington (3/31), vs. GCU (4/1), at STAC (4/4) and at C.W. Post (4/5).

USP - USP evened their conference record at 2-2 with a sweep of Nyack on Saturday. Junior Rachel Morgan (Clackamas, Ore.) broke three school records with her 13 strikeout performance on Saturday. Rachel became the Devils all-time strikeout leader with 259 career K's, surpassing Laura Flint's(04-07) old mark of 256. Her 13 strikeouts are a USP single game record. Morgan also struck out seven batters looking, also a school record. Morgan achieved the career mark in 280 innings pitched over the past 2+ seasons, 131 fewer than Flint took to set the mark back in 2007. Junior Brittany Brown (Marlton, N.J.) also set a school record in the first game against Nyack when she was intentionally walked twice. Junior Samantha Tu (Trevose, Pa.) moved up to 13th on USP's all-time hit list this week with 74 for her career; Brown is 11th with 76 career hits, and junior Mia Crotti (Jessup, Pa.) is 12th with 75. Tu also had two doubles this week to move into 6th place on USP's career doubles list with 18.
