CACC Men's Tennis Championship Heads Back to Post for 2020 Tournament

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (August 13, 2019) -- Post University will once again serve as the host institution for the semifinals and final of the 2020 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Championship, as announced on Tuesday by Commissioner Dan Mara. The dates for the championship include the semifinals on Saturday, April 25, and the championship final on Sunday, April 26. The semis and final will be held at the Edgewood Bath & Tennis Club in Middlebury, Conn. Post served as host for the men's tennis championship back in 2018.

The top-four teams from the CACC regular season standings will advance to the conference's post-season tournament. Saturday's semifinals will feature the No. 1 seed facing the No. 4 seed at 10 a.m., followed by the No. 2 and 3 seeds squaring off at 1 p.m. Saturday's two semifinal winners will advance to Sunday's championship final, which will be contested at 12 p.m. The winner of the 2020 CACC Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, which will be held in early May.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Rob Howard, Post advanced to the 2019 CACC Tournament. The Eagles appeared in the NCAA Division II East Region rankings throughout the 2019 campaign and are one of the most competitive teams in the region.

Concordia College will enter the 2020 season as the two-time defending conference champion. The Clippers knocked off Chestnut Hill College in this past spring's final, as both ultimately advanced to the NCAA Division II Regional Tournament. Concordia won the region to reach the Round of 16 in the NCAA Division Tournament in Florida.
