Several CACC Men's & Women's Tennis Teams & Student-Athletes Earn ITA Academic Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (July 23, 2019) -- Both the men's and women's tennis programs at Chestnut Hill College and Concordia College were recently recognized with team and individual academic awards from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, as announced by the national organization promoting college tennis across all divisions in the NCAA.

The men's and women's teams at both CHC and Concordia were named 2018-19 ITA All-Academic Teams for posting team-wide GPAs of at least 3.20 (on a 4.0 scale). In addition, each of those four teams had at least four student-athletes named 2018-19 ITA Scholar-Athletes for posting a 3.50 or higher GPA for the current academic year. The teams are under the guidance of head coaches Neil Tarangioli (Concordia) and Alan Garabedian (CHC).

On the men's side, both Concordia and Chestnut Hill produced outstanding results in the classroom while also taking their respective place among the region's best in NCAA Division II East Region. The Clippers claimed the CACC Championship for the second-consecutive year in 2019, and then went on to win the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament to earn a spot in the national final's round of 16. CHC reached the CACC Championship Final, and also locked up a spot in the NCAA regionals.

The Concordia women reached the finals of the 2018 CACC Championship and eventually earned a spot in the NCAA regional tournament.
