BRONXVILLE, N.Y. (May 13, 2019) – Senior Eymeric Chevalier (Bordeux, France) and sophomore Henry Masters(Southampton, England) clinched the doubles point for the 27^th-ranked Concordia College New York men's tennis team against Chestnut Hill College in the 2019 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Men's Tennis East Region I Finals on Sunday afternoon, with the pair adding straight-set triumphs in singles play at the top two positions to lead the Clippers past the Griffins 4-0 and advance to the NCAA Round of 16 for the 14th time since 2005.

NOTES
• Concordia improves to 18-3.

• Chestnut Hill ends its season with an 18-7 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
• The duo of sophomore William Nilsson (Bastad, Sweden) and freshman Jan Godfrey Seno (Cebu City, Philippines) bested Chestnut Hill's Tom Pitchley and Erik Jorsal 6-2 at the first doubles position.

• Chevalier and Masters clinched the doubles point behind a 6-2 triumph on court two against Antoine Gautier and Adam Gavin.

• At the third doubles slot, sophomore Michele Fenoaltea (Rome, Italy) and freshman Maximilian Grundmann (Schwerte, Germany) were trailing 4-3 to Jesus Darias and Kai Adler before the doubles point was decided.

• Masters posted back-to-back 6-3 sets against Darias at the second singles flight.

• Chevalier bested Pitchley 6-3 in the opening set at the top singles position before a 7-5 second-set triumph.

• Trailing 4-1 in the opening set on court three, Fenoaltea rallied to force a tiebreaker game in the initial stanza which went Fenoaltea's way 7-2 before a 6-3 second-set victory for the 53rd-ranked singles player in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) National Singles Poll ended the match.

The men's tennis team awaits its seeding in the NCAA National Championships Round of 16, with play beginning in Sanlando Park on Tuesday, May 21.
