Sixteen Student-Athletes Named to 2018 CACC Men's Tennis All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 30, 2018) -- Sixteen student-athletes on Wednesday were named to the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The total number of student-athletes named to the all-academic team represent the five member schools that compete in the sport at the varsity level. The 2018 total tops the mark of 11 that comprised the 2017 CACC Men's Tennis All-Academic Team. 

Post University led the way with five honorees, followed by the University of the Sciences with four student-athletes making the list. Ludvig Henrikson led Post's five honorees with a cumulative grade point average of 3.90. Borna Novak was USciences's top GPA as he posted a mark of 3.95. Henrikson and Novak were joined by Jefferson's Oskar Haedicke as the three student-athletes with GPAs of 3.90 or better, as he notched an average of 3.93.

Seven of the 16 members on the team were multiple-time honorees, including Chestnut Hill College's Lucas Bocaletto, who was the only three-time honoree this year. Also of note was Concordia College's Alessandro Evangelisti being named to the all-academic team, just weeks after he was named the 2018 CACC Men's Tennis Player of the Year, while also locking up a spot on the All-CACC First Team.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.)
