Concordia Captures 2012 CACC Men’s Tennis Title 5-1 Over Philadelphia

2012 CACC Men's Tennis Championship - FINAL RESULTS

Bronxville, N.Y. (April 22, 2012) –
No. 1 seed Concordia defeated No. 3 seed Philadelphia 5-1 in Sunday's 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Tennis Championship Final at Concordia.

Philadelphia's lone win on the day came in No. 2 doubles as Kyle Burke and Ryan Christopher teammed up to defeat Concordia's Andreas Lindell and David Tisserand 8-6.

The loss in doubles for the Clippers' snapped their CACC set winning streak in CACC matches at 181, dating back to April 2010, when they dropped a set against Chestnut Hill.

Concordia has captured the last three CACC Men's Tennis Conference Championships and will now advance to the 2012 NCAAˆDivision II Men's Tennis Championship.

Concordia's Daniele Piludu was named the tournament's most valuable player and was joined on the 2012 CACC All-Tournament Team by Yoann Pham (Chestnut Hill), Ryan Christopher (Philadelphia), Kyle Burke (Philadelphia), Geza Bazula (Concordia), Thomaz Olfans (Concordia) and David Tisserand (Concordia).

In singles action Piludu, Bazula and Tisserand claimed singles victories for Concordia, while the tandems of Piludu/Bazula and Frey/Quintana teammed up to secure doubles victories.
