CONCORDIA'S GRUBIN TABBED ITA SENIOR MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 17, 2010) - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) named Concordia College’s Alex Grubin the National Senior Player of the Year, while also naming Clipper Assistant Coach Dan Rockhill the National Assistant Coach of the Year. 

Alex Grubin, a senior from Belgrade Serbia, has been a standout for the Clippers for four years.   In his freshman year, Grubin was named by the ITA as a Player to Watch.  Grubin helped lead the Clippers to the NCAA Division II Final Four twice (2009 and 2010) and he was named the East Region Senior Player of the Year earlier this month.  

Grubin finished his Clipper career with a 69-5 singles record and a doubles record of 84-10 in just dual matches.   Grubin has also been given numerous player of the week and all-conference honors in his career.

Dan Rockhill, the assistant coach for the Clippers, was tabbed the National ITA Assistant Coach of the Year and was previously named the East Region Assistant Coach of the Year.  Rockhill has been a coach with the Clippers for 11 years.
