2021 CACC MSOC All-Conference & Major Awards

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 8, 2021) -- Georgian Court University standout Louis Silva on Monday was named the 2021 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Silva's honor highlighted Monday's list of honorees as additional major award winners and all-conference representatives were announced by the league. Voting for the awards was conducted by the league's 12 head coaches in the sport.

Wilmington University swept through the remainder of the major individual awards, including Richard Thompson (CACC Rookie of the Year), Carson Talboys (CACC Defensive Player of the Year), Konstantinos Parisis (CACC Goalkeeper of the Year) and Nick Papanicolas (CACC Coach of the Year). Chestnut Hill College was named the CACC Men's Soccer Team Sportsmanship Award winner for demonstrating class and character throughout the 2021 season.

Silva ranks among the top offensive players in all of NCAA Division II, as he has logged 18 goals and 10 assists for 46 points. He leads the CACC in both goals and points, while also helping to guide the Lions to the No. 4 seed in this week's CACC Championship tournament. Silva scored in 12 of 18 matches played in during the regular season, while posting six matches with two goals tallied.

Thompson has had a terrific debut season on the back end for WilmU, as he has started in all 18 matches to help WilmU lead the CACC and rank among the top 20 in NCAA Division II for lowest team goals against average at 0.81. Thompson has also pitched in offensively with two goals and 10 helpers for 14 points.

Talboys has also been on the backline for the Wildcats this season and has helped lead WilmU to the top of the defensive charts in the CACC and NCAA Division II. He has started all 18 matches and has chipped in with six goals and a pair of assists.

Parisis has gone 15-2-1 in goal this season with a .727 save percentage and a 0.83 goals against average. He ranks 22nd in the nation in lowest GAA and 84th nationally in save percentage.

Silva, Thompson, Talboys and Parisis also were named to the All-CACC First Team at their respective positions.

Papanicolas, who stands on the verge of 200 career wins, has led WilmU into the national rankings this season, while also guiding the Wildcats to the CACC Regular Season Championship. The Wildcats are the No. 2 seed in this week's conference tournament.
