POST’S JOE BACCIELO NAMED CACC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR

2012 SOCCER AWARDS BANQUET PHOTOS

SOUTHBURY, Conn. (November 1, 2012) – Post University's Joe Bacciello (Stratford, Conn.) was honored as the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Year and Georgian Court's Denisha Thomas (Trinidad & Tobago) was recognized as the CACC Women's Soccer Player of the Year at the league's annual soccer awards banquet on Thursday night.

Post swept the major awards on the men's side as head coach Ted Haley was chosen by his peers as the CACC Men's Soccer Coach of the Year, while Post freshman Rapheal Moura (Danbury, Conn.) was named as the CACC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year.

Wilmington head coach Josh Ruggiero was honored as the CACC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year after guiding the Wildcats to a 10-1-1 conference mark during the regular season.  Caldwell's Sarina Soriano (San Jose, Calif.) was named as the CACC Women's Soccer Coach of the Year.

Goldey-Beacom College (men) and Bloomfield College (women) were chosen as the recipients of the Team Sportsmanship Awards.

Members of the All-CACC Men's Soccer First Team included Baccielo (Post), Errol Reid (Post), Felix Horn (Nyack),  Kevin Ipina (Post), Momar Diop (Bloomfield), Marco Likos (Nyack), Sony Narro (Dominican), Pedro De Araujo (Dominican), Dodji Freitas (Holy Family), Ben Kwast (Nyack) and Travis Lobb (Philadelphia).

Members of the All-CACC Women's Soccer First Team included Thomas (Georgian Court), Kelli Kowalewski (Philadelphia), Chelsea Riedell (Philadelphia), Melissa Benson (Holy Family), Melissa Copeland (Philadelphia), Julie Crankshaw (Caldwell), Morgan Fraczkowski (Wilmington), Megan Tole (Holy Family), Renel Dennis (Post), Carly Digiovanni (Chestnut Hill) and Alli Williams (Wilmington).

The 2012 CACC Men's and Women's Soccer Championships resume on Friday, Nov. 2 in Waterbury, Conn.  The men's semifinals will begin at 12 p.m. (Post vs. Wilmington) and 2:30 p.m. (Dominican vs. Nyack) at Lamoy Field on the campus of Post University, while women's semifinal action will be contested at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury.  Game times are slated for 11 a.m. (Wilmington vs. Georgian Court) and 1:30 p.m. (Philadelphia vs. Caldwell) on Friday.


The 2012 CACC Women's and Men's Soccer Championship matches are slated for Sunday, Nov. 4 at Lamoy Field on the campus of Post University.  Game times are 11 a.m. (women) and 1:30 p.m. (men).
