BLOOMFIELD'S REID NAMED 2010 CACC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR

BLOOMFIELD'S REID NAMED 2010 CACC MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (November 2, 2010)  - Bloomfield College senior forward Dwayne Reid has been named the 2010 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men’s Soccer Player of the Year in balloting released Tuesday. Dominican College’s Sonny Narro was selected Rookie of the Year, while Bloomfield’s Peter-John Falloon was tabbed Coach of the Year.  Goldey-Beacom College was given the annual Team Sportsmanship Award. The conference’s 12 head coaches conducted the voting for the All-Conference team.

Reid, a 5-9 senior from the Bronx, N.Y., has led one of the top offenses in the country this season. His 15 goals rank first in the CACC and in the East Region. Currently ranked eighth in the nation in total goals, Reid's blazing speed has allowed him to wreak havoc on the CACC this season, and lead the Deacons to the top overall seed in this week's CACC Tournament.  A CACC Player of the Week selection on Sept. 13, Reid's best performances this season include registering two assists and scoring the game-winning goal in overtime against Post University on October 28, and recording a hat-trick in non-conference action against Saint Anselm College on September 13.

Narro, a freshman midfielder from Stamford, Conn., has been one of the offensive leaders in his first collegiate season for the Chargers, who will serve as the No. 3 seed in this week’s CACC Tournament. Narro ranks seventh in the conference with 16 points and stands fourth with six assists. Narro is the second-leading scorer on the Chargers, is second in goals and paces the team in assists. He netted the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against Le Moyne. Narro also claimed second team All-CACC status in addition to being named Rookie of the Year.

Falloon was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Deacons to a 10-0-1 conference record this season and with it the top seed for the upcoming CACC Tournament. Bloomfield is ranked fifth in the East Region and is 13-3-1 overall. The season started with a bang for the Deacons, who upended then nationally-ranked Wilmington University and Le Moyne College just four days apart in the opening week of the season.  BC was ranked as high as 13th in the nation, back on Oct. 12.

The complete All-CACC Men’s Soccer team is listed below.
