CLANCY, OFSTAD AND CAMPBELL EARN TOP CACC HONORS
Nov 2, 2005

NEW HAVEN - Kyle Clancy, a senior forward from Dominican College, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Soccer Player of the Year for the second consecutive season in balloting released today. Asgeir Ofstad, a sophomore defender from Caldwell College, has been named Rookie of the Year and Dominican head coach John Campbell has been voted as Coach of the Year.

Clancy, a Walden, NY native, leads the CACC in total points with 36, is tied for first with 15 goals scored and tied for second with six assists. He has now been named First Team All-CACC four times in his career. With Clancy leading the way, the Chargers are the eighth-ranked team in the nation and the top-ranked team in the New England region.

Asgeir, who is in his first season of collegiate soccer, is from Trondheim, Norway. He has helped lead a tough Cougar defense that has allowed just 1.3 goals per-game this season.

Campbell has guided the Chargers to a 16-1 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in the CACC in his first season on the sidelines. Under Campbells leadership, Dominican has dominated both sides of the ball. The Chargers lead the CACC in goals, goals per-game, points, shots, goals-against average and goals allowed per-game.

The CACC's annual Team Sportsmanship Award has been given to Nyack College this season. The Warriors have earned the accolade in five of the last six seasons.
