41 S-As Named to 2023 CACC MLAX All-Academic Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (May 25, 2023) -- Forty-one (41) student-athletes on Thursday were named to the 2023 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse All-Academic Team, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. Seven of the eight CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the All-Academic Team.

CACC Champion Chestnut Hill College and playoff qualifier Post University led the way with eight honorees apiece. Regular season champion Georgian Court University and fellow CACC semifinalist Wilmington University were next with seven student-athletes making the academic unit. In all, the five playoff competing teams in the CACC this season combined for 33 All-Academic honorees (Dominican Universith w/ 3 honorees).

NOTES ON ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
♦ Two student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages (Post's Niko Grollman and WilmU's Zach Pancake).

♦ Eight student-athletes notched GPAs of 3.90 or higher.

♦ Grollman, Pancake and GCU's Daniel Burnham were named to the CACC Academic squad for the fourth time in their respective careers.

♦ Seven were named to the CACC MLAX All-Academic Team for the third time in their respective careers.

♦ Twelve (12) were named to the unit for the second time in their respective careers.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must: a) Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of immediate preceding term (may include summer for fall sport participants); b) Minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) Student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 13 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Alliance University, Bloomfield College, University of Bridgeport, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Dominican (N.Y.) University, Felician University, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Post University, Thomas Jefferson University, and Wilmington University.
