DAILY RECAP: Semifinals of 2019 CACC Men's Lacrosse Championship

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (May 2, 2019) -- The semifinals of the 2019 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse Championship gets underway on Thursday with top-seeded Chestnut Hill College facing Dominican College (No. 4 Seed) at noon, at the GCU Turf Field in Lakewood, N.J. The day's other semifinal features Georgian Court University (No. 2 Seed) taking on Wilmington (No. 3) at 3 p.m. The CACC Men's Lacrosse Championship is part of the CACC Spring Championship Festival, which is being held this weekend in Lakewood, N.J., on the GCU campus, and features five championship events.

CHESTNUT HILL 19, DOMINICAN 11  l  Boxscore
Chestnut Hill remains undefeated in conference play with a 19-11 victory over Dominican. Casey Brown and Carson Rees combined for 11 of the Griffins goals. Brown poured in a game-high six goals and dished out four assists.  Rees added five goals and one assist. J.R. Howell, Nick Webber, Scott Wilden and, Ben Revak added multiple goals. Austin Jones had 14 saves to earn the win in goal. 

 Luke Martini, Marcos Pierce, and Nicholas D'Alessandro scored two goals apiece for Dominican. 

GEORGIAN COURT 15, WILMINGTON 6  l  Boxscore
The Lions converted on 15 of 38 shots to secure a wide victory over Wilmington. Tanner Lee scored a game-high five goals to lead Georgian Court. P.J. Saracino, Randy Collins and, Devin Bell chipped in two goals apiece. Patrick Quinn added a goal and dished out three assists. Austin Geissel had 17 saves for the Lions. 

Dylan McCleaft scored two goals for the Wildcats. 


 Saturday, May 4 

GEORGIAN COURT 11, CHESTNUT HILL 10  l  Boxscore   
Four unanswered goals in the fourth quarter allowed Georgian Court to gain the 11-10 advantage over Chestnut Hill clinching the 2019 CACC Men's Lacrosse Championship Title. Devin Bell scored a team-high four goals to lead the Lions. Brandon Razler and Tanner Lee added two goals each. Razler also dished out three assists. Austin Geissel finished with 24 saves. 

Carson Rees poured in a game-high five goals for Chestnut Hill. Ben Revak and Scott Wilden added two goals each.
