LAKEWOOD, N.J. (April 29, 2018) -- Austin Geissel made 16 saves and Michael Saladino sealed it with a goal inside the final 90 seconds to lift top-seeded Georgian Court University to a 9-7 triumph over No. 2 seed Chestnut Hill College on Sunday afternoon in the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Lacrosse Championship in Lakewood, N.J.

Geissel's 16 stops earned him most valuable player honors for the 2018 championship, which was the inaugural post-season tournament in the sport in the CACC history. Saladino was joined by Tanner Lee with a team-best three goals apiece, as both joined Geissel on the CACC All-Tournament Team.

Saladino came into the contest as one of the two CACC Players of the Year, with the other being CHC's Dylan Klusaritz. As Saladino tied for team-high honors in goals, Klusaritz did the same with two markers for the Griffins. He was named to the All-Tournament Team as well. Klusaritz's tally with 5:38 remaining brought Chestnut Hill to within a goal at 8-7. However, Saladino countered with a tally with 1:23 remaining to make it a two-goal margin.

GCU scored the game's opening three goals, but Chestnut Hill countered with a trio of tallies to knot the score at 3-all following one quarter. Lee posted back-to-back goals in the opening stages of the second quarter, as the Lions took a 5-4 lead into halftime.

Scott Wilden and Gerard Lyle put in goals in the third quarter to tie it at 6-6 heading into the fourth quarter. Brandon Razler and Patrick Quinn both scored in the fourth to make it 8-6 before Klusaritz made things interesting with his man-up tally in the final minutes of regulation.
