NEW CASTLE, DE -- Wilmington University Director of Athletics, Frank Aiello, announced the resignation of Kevin Welch as Head Men's Basketball Coach, effective immediately. 

After four seasons as head coach, Welch is leaving the program to pursue other career opportunities.

"Kevin has been a hard-working friend to Wilmington University and the student-athletes he has coached and recruited", said Aiello.  "We wish him the very best in his future endeavors."

"I would like to thank Wilmington University for allowing me the opportunity and experience of coaching the men's basketball program", Welch said.  "I wish the University and the program nothing but the best, and will always appreciate the lessons I have learned during my time here.  It has been an honor to coach and to mentor a great group of student-athletes."
