Ethan Phillips Sweeps Major 2021-22 CACC Golf Awards

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (April 27, 2022) -- Post University standout Ethan Phillips on Wednesday was named the 2021-22 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf Player and Rookie of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Dan Mara. The major awards and all-conference selections were based on the final Golfstat rankings for the 2021-22 campaign.

In addition to Phillips, Post also celebrated Steve Sokol being named the CACC Coach of the Year. University of the Sciences earned the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award for demonstrating outstanding class and character during the season -- its final as a varsity program. The voting for the coach award was conducted by the league's sports information directors, while the sportsmanship award was voted on by the coaches in the sport.

Phillips had a sensational season with several top-five finishes including T-5th at the FPU Fall Invitational; 2nd at the Penmen Fall Invitational; and 3rd at the 2021 CACC Championship. He was named to the CACC All-Tournament Team for his efforts at the league championship.

He won the Charger Spring Challenge on March 28 with a 2-under-par, 69, at White Beeches Golf Club. He also shared medalist honors in late April with teammate Riley Card at the Yellow Jacket Invitational with a two-round score of 148 (+4).

Phillips also earned a spot on the CACC All-Conference Team with nine other standouts who had outstanding 2021-22 seasons.

Sokol was named the CACC Coach of the Year, as he has guided Post into the NCAA Division II East Region Rankings, which serves as the selection for who qualifies for the East/Atlantic Regional in early May.
