RUTHERFORD, N.J. (August 30, 2019) – For the first time since its inception in 2005, the Felician University men's golf team will experience a new head coach.

Today, athletics director Ben DiNallo Jr. announced that Joe Ambrose of Bethlehem, Pa., will take the helm. DiNallo served as the head coach of the Golden Falcons over the last 14 seasons.

"Golf is special to me," DiNallo said. "It is one of the first sports my father introduced me to many years ago. It has been a labor of love to have been a part of this program and have created life-long relationships with the student-athletes I've been privileged to have coached."

DiNallo's teams made four top-five finishes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference(CACC) Championship tournament, including a runner-up result in the 2015-16 campaign. The Golden Falcons also claimed a record seven CACC Team Sportsmanship Awards under his watch. While guided by DiNallo, Felician saw Andrew Geesey win the CACC individual championship in 2015-16 and sent three individuals to the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional championship.

Coach Ambrose, a member of both the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) and the Professional Bowlers Association, is on the golf staff at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem. He is a Class A graduate of the PGA Professional Golf Management Program and spent the last two years as the women's head coach at Keystone College. Ambrose also founded the women's bowling program at Kutztown University, leading the Golden Bears from 2007-19, and was the 2011 National Tenpin Coaching Association Division II/III coach of the year. He possesses a B.S. in business from the University of Phoenix.

"I am excited to have Joe become our new head coach," DiNallo said. "His experience as a club professional will enhance our program and help develop the young men in it."

DiNallo is entering his 17^th year as Felician's athletics director. He has enjoyed a Golden Falcon coaching career that has spanned 21 years and three sports. DiNallo was the Golden Falcons' first women's soccer coach, serving from 1998-2002 and posting a .560 winning percentage. He was named the 2001 CACC and NAIA Region X Coach of the Year, and that team will be inducted into the Felician Athletics Hall of Fame in October. DiNallo led the Felician women's basketball team to 91 victories in nine seasons over two stints from 1998-2008.

Administratively, DiNallo has overseen a period of rapid growth over the last six years. In that time, Felician has added four varsity intercollegiate sports and one junior varsity program to its NCAA Division II offerings, plus instituted the Hall of Fame.

"It is bittersweet to see my coaching career at Felician University wind down," DiNallo said. "I have been honored to serve this institution and its student-athletes by having coached three sports and am looking forward to leading the continued growth of the athletics program into the future."
