NEW HAVEN, Conn. (December 12, 2018) -- Ten student-athletes were named to the 2018 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Men's Golf All-Academic Team, as announced on Wednesday by Commissioner Dan Mara. The 10 honoorees represent four of the nine schools in the CACC that compete in the sport at the varsity level.

Post University led the way with four honorees, while University of the Sciences was next with three, and Jefferson had a pair of honored student-athletes. Post's highest cumulative grade point average was 3.59, which was held by Matthieu Sicard, who claimed individual medalist honors at the 2018 CACC Men's Golf Championship in early October at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Del.

The highest GPA on the list was 3.96, which Jefferson's Nick Franchi sports. It marked the second major academic award for Franchi this fall, as he was also named the CACC Top XVI Award winner at the CACC Golf Championship for owning the highest GPA at the finals site.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a student-athletes must meet the following criteria: a) minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the end of the immediate preceding term; b) minimum of two semesters enrolled as full-time student at member institution; c) student-athlete must be second year student-athlete at member institution; and d) student-athlete must have been athletically eligible the season preceding the award and used a season of eligibility.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (N.Y.) College, Dominican (N.Y.)
