RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Felician College head baseball coach Chris Langan received four player commitments in August for the 2008-09 school year. Freshmen Chris Fogleman (Waxhaw, NC/Waddington), Andrew Lombardi (Boonton, NJ/Montville Tonwship), James Simpson (Biscayne Park, FL/Coral Gables) and transfer Alex Del Valle (Miami, FL/Columbus) have signed athletic financial aid agreements with the Golden Falcons.

Fogleman was an all-conference selection as a senior at Waddington High of Matthews, N.C. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound corner infielder played his AAU ball for Team Carolina. He will major in education and/or biology.

Lombardi, 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, earned 2008 second-team all-conference honors for Montville Township at catcher. As a junior, he helped the Mustangs to the state sectional championship game. He also played for the AAU Play Ball Bats, coached by Felician assistant Steve Langan. Lombardi expects to study business administration at Felician.

Simpson hit .459 with 15 doubles as a senior at Coral Gables, and was a two-time honorable-mention all-Dade honoree. He also played golf for the Cavaliers. In the summers, he was a member of American Legion Post 43's entry and helped Team Florida to the Continental Amateur Baseball Association World Series. A 5-foot-10, 175-pound middle infielder, he will major in criminal justice.

Del Valle, a 6-foot, 170-pound shortstop, transferred after two seasons at Division-I Le Moyne College, and played last summer for the Lowell All-Americans of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. He helped Christopher Columbus High to the 2006 Florida regional playoffs. A native of Cuba, Del Valle will enroll in Felician's pre-chiropractic program.

The NCAA Division II Golden Falcons are coming off a 26-24 won-lost record in 2008, which included their third consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoff berth. These four players join pitcher/third-baseman Shane Junger (Waretown, NJ/Southern Regional), outfielder Evan Mancini (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial), and pitcher/catcher Vic Monteagudo (Palm Springs, FL/John I. Leonard) in Langan's recruiting class for 2008-09.
