FOURTEEN CACC BASEBALL PLAYERS SELECTED TO DAKTRONICS ALL-REGION TEAM

NEW HAVEN, CT (May 13, 2009) - Fourteen baseball players from Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) institutions have earned Daktronics All-East Region accolades in an announcement made today. The voting was conducted by the sports information directors throughout the region.

Two players were named to the team for the second consecutive season in Nyack College 1B Cody Levins and Philadelphia University SS Tyler Mentzer. Seven players from CACC schools were first team picks this season, up from two in 2008.

First team selections include four players from Dominican College in sophomore DH Michael Munoz, sophomore starting pitcher Tom Kahl, freshman relief pitcher Justin Moore and junior third baseman Willie Mann. CACC Player of the Year, Cody Holliday of Wilmington University, was also a first team pick along with junior utility player Phil Messerian and junior shortstop PJ Rodriguez of Nyack.

Second team honorees include senior starting pitcher Brian Craig of Dominican, junior starter Buddy Riggs and junior OF Ray Keelan of Caldwell College, junior catcher Marcos Torres and sophomore 2B Mickey Zudonyi of Felician College, and Levins and Mentzer.

The 14 players chosen to the team this year tops last year's mark, when nine players from the CACC earned the honor.
