RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Recent high-school graduate Evan Mancini of Brick has signed a national letter of intent to continue his baseball career at Felician College, Felician head coach Chris Langan announced today.

Mancini, a 6-foot, 170-pound outfielder, was a 2008 Star-Ledger First-Team all-Ocean County and Gold Glove selection for Brick Memorial High, and earned All-Shore A-South honors from the Asbury Park Press. A three-year letterwinner and 2008 team MVP for the Mustangs, he also helped Brick Post 348 to the 2007 Ocean County American Legion championship. He has also been a member of the AAU Baseball U Prospects program.

Mancini was also a member of the Mustangs' indoor track & field team. As a junior, he medaled in two relays at the Ocean County Championships. He intends to enroll in Felician's pre-physical therapy program.

The NCAA Division II Golden Falcons are coming off a 26-24 won-lost record in 2008, which included their third consecutive Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference playoff berth. Mancini joins pitcher/third-baseman Shane Junger (Waretown, NJ/Southern Regional) and pitcher/catcher Vic Monteagudo (Palm Springs, FL/John I. Leonard), who committed during the early signing period in November, in coach Langan's Class of 2012.
