BRONXVILLE, N.Y. (Septebmer 6, 2019) – Concordia College New York's Kathy Laoutaris has been named the Director of Athletics & Campus Life, as announced by President John Arthur Nunes. Laoutaris, who has served as the Director of Athletics since the 2016-17 academic year, will continue to captain the Athletic Department while also overseeing the Student Experience Department.

"I am so very thankful to Dr. John Nunes for this opportunity," Laoutaris said. "I am excited to work with our Student Experience team to make a positive impact for all our students."

In three years under her leadership, the Clippers have taken strides in their pursuits of passion, purpose and service. Athletically, Concordia recorded its best finish in the Learfield IMG College Directors' Cup, a program that awards athletic departments points based on postseason successes, with a 108th placing amongst all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II universities during the 2017-18 academic year.

In the classroom, the Clippers had 23 student-athletes earn Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) All-Academic Team honors during the 2018-19 academic year, the second-most since Concordia joined the league. 10 programs have had at least one All-Academic recipient since Laoutaris became the Director of Athletics, with 55 individuals overall earning All-Academic Team distinction in that span.

Laoutaris has also worked on expanding Concordia's impact beyond campus, with the Clippers' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee participating in a school-record number of community service events during the spring 2019 semester.

Laoutaris has been a part of the Concordia family since the fall of 1989 when she arrived to campus as an incoming freshman. Since graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1993, the Concordia Hall of Fame Class of 2014 member has held nearly every administrative position within athletics on campus including Head Coach, Athletic Trainer, Sports Information, Compliance, and Game Day Management. She mentored 22 CACC All-Academic Team members during her tenure as head coach of the softball program, highlighted by a school-record seven recipients during the 2016 season, and 12 CACC All-Conference honorees while garnering CACC Coach of the Year distinction in 2011.
